Hi everyone. Quick question. we are taking the kids back down to WDW for 16 days in late July/early August and I wanted to know if anyone knew how you can get picked to ride up front in the Magic Kingdom parade or in another of the park parades. Between my wife and I we have been to WDW 28 times and have never once gotten up front (ok so we are slow).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again.

Ask...

Ask a CM. They should help...but only if you're there early.

Also, dress in Disney attire. They look for families who are Disney fans, but being a walking billboard is a turnoff as well.

Be enthusiastic, and sliding a $20 might help too!

my son and I got picked to participate in one of the parades.we had to rub aladins lamp and do the funky chicken etc... we were just sitting on the curb near fronteerland waiting for the parade to start (about 1/2 hr. early and a cast member asked us.!! it was fun .. seemed like he was just picking people at random....

My husband, son, daughter & I were all chosen to be in the parade at Disneyland. We were all sitting on the curb early, not too many people lined up yet, and they approached us. Guess being there early is the key... good luck! (my husband looked really cute in his tutu wearing shorts!... lots of people recognized him later as we were leaving the park) :D We also received pins for participating! :)

As far as being Grand Marshals for the parade, the family is usually chosen during the first 1/2 hour of park opening. A CM is on main street and watches families coming into the park. From the parades I've seen, they usually seem to choose at least 4 member families, usually more. Like another member said, they're looking for people who are showing the Disney spirit. It really is just being in the right place at the right time.

This information is based on something I've read on another site (don't hate me, Steve, it was Deb's) and have seen at the parades, so it may not be 100%.

That's one of the reasons I always make "fun" Disney shirts for my kids to wear at WDW. It's also one of the many reasons we get up so god-awful early in the morning: to have a chance at being Grand Marshals!:king:

Hey! What you need to do to get on one of the parades is go to Main Street USA and go to the Guest Services area near the entrance of the park. Ask them early in the day if you can be in one of the parades and im sure they will have a few spots open.:)
