I'm getting married in December at WDW (obviously ;)) and I have a question to ask from a photographer's point of view. My fiance's friend is surprising him by showing up at our wedding! He also wants to be in the wedding, but he doesn't want to pay to rent the tux and is asking to wear his Marine dress blues. It's a small wedding party consisting of me, my maid of honor, my fiance, and his best man. So two men in matching black tuxes. Would it look really weird from a photographer's perspective to have 2 men in matching black tuxes and one in military blues?

I've already gotten the opinion of one photographer who I respect very much, but I'm looking to see if everyone feels the same. Thanks, guys! :D

I would suggest all men dress the same....but I am not a professional.

Let him wear his uniform. Besides it being one of the best uniforms ever, it seems the only real concern is symmetry. Photography really hasn't anything to do with this.

Honor him by allowing him to wear what suits him best.

If it was the groom only or all male members of the wedding party in full military dress I think you have no issues. However, if the groom is in a tux and another male member of the wedding party is in full military dress it's going to be confusing who is most important (besides the bride obviously) in the images. It creates 2 focal points in group shots (bride and military member) taking some visual attention away from the bride and groom who should be the primary focal point of all of the images.

in 25 years when she looks at her images, yes... photography is important as is symmetry.
