We are planning a trip in October. I have friends who live in Florida who plan on meeting is at hotel for breakfast and then joining my group to the park. They will be purchasing resident passes. Will they be able to board bus to parks without magic bands? Or will they be getting magic bands with resident passes?

They do not currently check any form of ID when boarding on-site Disney transportation. However, they likely will not be able to park at your Disney resort for the entire day while you all visit the parks. Resort parking is very limited and you must either be staying at that resort or have a dining reservation. Their level of enforcement varies.
