Question about WDW at Christmas

My family is planning another trip to the World for Christmas of '14. Is there anything extra going on during the first week of December that isn't happening during early November? We want to make sure we don't miss any special parades/parties/shows, etc. Weather is warmer in November but if it means missing extra holiday stuff than we'll switch it to early December instead. I just don't want to take the family during the holiday and potentially miss out on something as it'll be their first time there during this time period.

Sounds like you are over thinking it. There is so much to see and do, you probably won't be able to do it all anyway. Our philosophy is go and enjoy what we can. If we miss something (and we often miss a lot), that just means we were busy enjoying the things we did do. The best thing we ever did was slow down and enjoy the experience, not trying to take in so much on one trip.
Also, the ABC Christmas Parade tapes in early December at MK. Now, we avoid that, but some people like to try to be there for it. For us too many people and lots of stopping and starting and retakes and it blocks the castle and main street for most of the day.
For us, Christmas time, especially early int he month before the crowds descend, is a magical time there and we really enjoy resort hopping, seeing the decorations at the different resorts and DTD. Have a wonderful trip.

The holiday storytellers and Candlelight Processional are totally worth waiting to go until after Thanksgiving. Loved both of these activities so much. My DD loved hearing the stories and getting her picture made with all of the storytellers too. Have a great trip!
