Question about Tickets, and Staying on Site

Two quick questions for those in the know...
First: I am going to be staying onsite at the RP...If I already have my tickets(was going to get them from undercover tourist or with rewards card), any issues with getting the Express Pass? Whats the process, and can I get them before actually checking in, since I plan to arrive around 12PM which is before check in.
Second: Can I add a second day easily there, without much of a a surcharge, if my ticket is only for one day?
Any help would be appreciated!

Even thought you arrive early, you can go ahead and check in although your room may not be ready- you will need your room key to use the kiosk for your express pass

I didn't know how the express pass system worked until our first onsite trip this past December. When you check in, you get your room key, and you use that room key at a kiosk in the lobby to create your express pass. It has nothing to do with your park tickets. Those are separate. If you go to your hotel to check in early, you should be able to get a key and an express pass although you may not be able to access your room before official check-in time. I'd call the hotel directly to double check though. I don't like to leave these things to chance.

You can check in as early as 7:00am. They will hold your luggage until your room is ready.

You can get a FREE express pass at Royal Pacific since you are staying on-site. You might want to ask about the roomkey for the express pass if your room isn't going to be ready. I've stayed at the Hard Rock several times, and RP twice and the check in is like 1 or 3 pm. So you can leave your bags there and go to the park, or do whatever it is you want until check in. Those three main hotels do sell out on peak seasons, so for adding the addition day is all up to when you are going to stay, if its around a special event at the park or a holiday, its all based around that if there's enough availability. But if its a slow time, I don't think there's an issue with adding a second day, I've certainly done it before without an issue...
