Question about taxi and early morning reservation

We have an 8:15 breakfast reservation next Friday at the Crystal Palace. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I was told that since the transportation does not start running until 9 oclock, that we should take a taxi. Does that sound correct?

If so, help me out with the rest.

Will there be taxis waiting outside the hotel at that time?

Where does the taxi drop you off at the MK?

We also will have our 20 month old with us, so the idea of a taxi isn't great, but it is a short ride I assume.

THanks.

Well transportation would have to be running before 9 because of extra magic hours and the parks don't open to the public till 9, and most like to be there before park opening so hence the transportation would be running before that...

Call your resort and ask them if they have an early bus running. We have ressies at the Crystal Palace at 8:20 on the 4th of December and when we called Pop Century, we were told that there was a bus that traveled to MK early for just that reason.

As was said, transporation should be running.

However, a taxi is a very easy way to go.

Let the front desk know you would like an AM taxi. Let them know the day before. They will either give you the numbers of taxi companies to use, or they will do if for you if you want.

The taxi will pick up up in front of your resort and drop you off at the MK by where the busses do (but close to the park)

It should run you +/- $10

The boat to the MK from the WL should be running at least one hour before the park opens, if there are EMH that morning in the MK it will run even earlier.
Double check with the front desk.

My mistake, I was told transportation would start at 8, but in order to be there in time the taxi would be best.

Thanks for the help. I will check again upon arrival.

I was thinking they run as early as 7 am it takes about 30 minutes to get to MK from the All Stars and WL is a bit closer so i would think they would be there at 7"30 for sure for those that have 8 am ressies. Our Crystal palace ressies are for 8:05am on Dec 10th. I don't know who told you 9 but all the parks are open at 9 am so that would be making everyone being late for openings or EMH.

In Feb. '08 I took one of the first boats from Wilderness Lodge over to the Contemporary around 6:45am. The monorail started running at 7:00am. You could ride the monorail or walk from the Contemporary. You may want to check though to see if they still run the boats that early.

It's a moot point on this discussion because regular transportation should be up and running in time for the OP, but...

The taxi stand for the MK is not at the park, but rather at the TTC. Only WDW transportation vehicles are allowed access into the bus lanes by the MK entrance. (Alternately, you could always ask a taxi to bring you to the Contemporary and then either walk or take the monorail)

Now that you mention it, you are right. The thing was I KNEW I was dropped off up front once. I was going crazy, I knew I was right, I had been dropped off up in front of the buses. Then it hit me, that was by a DVC van :)

Depending on when transportation starts, and how his kid is in the AM, a taxi may still be a wise option. It's not like it's a bank breaker.

I've stayed at WL many times and had 8:05am breakfast ressies at Crystal Palace and always taken Disney transportation and never once did I miss my breakfast. We always took the water launches to either MK or the Contemporary and then walked to MK and were there in plenty of time.

That's what we did in Oct. We took the boat to the Contemporary then walked to the MK. You could also take the monorail. The walk was only a few minutes.

Walking is a more direct route than taking the monorail. To walk you just follow the monorail tracks. If you take the monorail, you have to take the loop all the way around stopping at the TTC, the Poly and the GF and it's actually longer to take the monorail than it is to walk.

Thank you. Hopefully we can do that. We were looking forward to riding the boat over in the morning. I will check when I arrive next week.

I believe the small launches start running at 6:45am. They have to get people over to the Contemporary for those 7:30am Chef Mickey ADRs.
