Question about Splash Mountain

I rode this attraction in '08 but have a fuzzy memory about this:

Do you carry your bag with you on the ride, or do they make you put it in a bin like they do at Six Flags?

I don't remember, because my dad had my bag when we went (he didn't ride due to a heart condition) so I never had to think about it. My BF and I are going, and we're going to have 1 bag with the phones, wallets, sunblock, etc. and I just wonder whether or not to bring a Ziploc bag to keep the phones dry.

Yep, carry it on the ride with you.

TIP: I put a garbage bag folded up inside of my backpack. In rides like this, I'm able to put the backpack right inside and tie it up to keep it dry! (Protects my camera which is my biggest concern) If I ride without using the bag, I tuck the bag behind my legs to create a barrier.

I believe the only attraction where your items may get stored away from you is Soarin. If you bag doesn't fit under the seat, they will place it in a spot on the floor where the attraction will not touch it. SoAT has lockers, but I believe you hold the key for those. Everything else it gets stuck between the feet. Some places where size is an issue - Space Mountain (not much room for the bag and the legs) Mission Space (if it doesn't fit in the drawer thing you just stick it between your feet) Soarin (already mentioned) Kali River Rapids (a bucket in the middle of the raft with a lid that doesn't seal very well. Take electronics on here without waterproof bag at your own risk). All the other rides have plenty of space near your feet to stick a normal size backpack.

I feel like such a dopus! This idea is sheer genius, wrapped around simplicity and practicality. My backpack will forever remain dry from this point forward.

I don't trust the pouches that are on any of the attraction vehicles. I lost a hat on Space Mountain and almost lost a small bag on Dinosaur.

Regarding the water aspect, Rsoxguy nailed it. Usually may camera bag is enough when it is down by my legs.

I kept a large ziplock bag in my backpack this last trip to put all of our phones and my camera in on the water rides...the garbage bag is a great idea, too!

I just wear a poncho (cheap one from dollar tree), and put my bag on my front that way both my bag and me stay sort of dry......bag always dry, but my hair, pants, and face get a little wet. I do this on both Splash Moutain, and Kali River Rapids<--bucket in the middle of the raft SUCKS!!!

:sohappy:You take your bags, belongings on the ride.
I would carry a plastic bag that anything can fit in and then no worries, I even wear a poncho sometimes depends how cold it is and stuff. :) Enjoy!!!it's such fun even if you get wet.

I usually carry a duffel bag and I just stick it under my shirt. I've never gotten too wet on SM, but it's better to play it safe.

GREAT tip!! :sohappy: Will have to remember to pack a garbage bag in my backpack next year when we go to put my wife and daughter's possessions in on the water rides. Or maybe just a big ziploc bag. I always take a small ziploc bag for my wallet when I go to outdoor concerts in the summer and it looks like, or is actually raining outside. :lookaroun

Wow, that's quite a compliment! lol Thank you! :D (And now I sit here and hope that you weren't being sarcastic! :dazzle:)

I should also mention that the garbage bag can serve dual purposes- creating a protective barrier to sit on during a parade or outdoor show (i.e. Fantasmic) if it's just rained and the ground or bench is wet. (WAY lighter than carrying a towel!)
