Hello I'm new to these forums so I'm not sure how it all works but anyways. My girlfriend and I are going to Disney at the end of the month. My aunt gave me a life long ticket from when I was little that hasn't been used It's from 2005 and has ages 3-9 on it. Was curious as to if that can be upgraded or maybe pay the difference for the age gap? For reference I'm now 21. Thank you

You should be able to do it all thru the phone/website and link to MDE. Call guest relations.. and ask for a manager.

You should be able to upgrade this at Guest Services. Bring some photo id with you.

Paging @Rob562 for any further advice! :)

The answer is really "it depends".

First off, any ticket purchased for a child who has since grown up can be swapped out for an adult ticket with the same remaining admissions on it. This can be done at a Guest Relations window.

The OP said it's from 2005. That was the year of the transition to Magic Your Way tickets, so there are a few possibilities:

-If the ticket is *not* a MYW ticket and instead is one of the earlier tickets, then there is nothing that can be done to upgrade it. Guest Services will swap the ticket for a modern adult one with the same number admissions as were on the original ticket. Those admissions will never expire.

-If the ticket is a MYW ticket and has never been used for entry, then they will simply swap out the child ticket for an adult one.
*Important*... If you're looking to add days to the ticket you should do the swap, enter the park, then go back to Guest Relations to add the days. This should lock in the *current* gate price and you'll only pay the difference. If you try to do it all in one transaction, it's possible you'll only get the value of the original ticket purchase.

-Finally, if it's a MYW ticket with the No Expiration option purchased and at least one day was used for park admission way back when, you'll be able to do the child/adult swap, but you will not be able to add days to the ticket. All changes to the ticket have to be done within 14 days of first use, even if the no-expiration option was purchased.

Edit to add: One more thing is that you may have difficulty linking the ticket to your MDE account until after your visit to Guest Relations (especially if it's the first scenario above). You won't be able to book FastPasses until it's linked.

Thank you this was very helpful. The biggest problem I see is it has my auntsast name on it not mine since she bought it. It only says "Jeffrey" not my last name or anything

I wouldn't worry about the name. Lots of reasons for last names to change.

(Also, you may want to take down or edit your pic since it includes the ticket's serial number. Better safe than sorry)

We have tickets (books with A,B,C rides coupons) from 1975 and 1976. We inquired a few years back and they said they would give us some sort of credit for tickets even that old. We decided to not trade them in but just keep them as very unique keepsakes.

Good choice
