Folk i know there are probably abunch of threads like this but, last time i remember there is a military resort at WDW, cant remember what it is called and i would like to know, do they get the advantages of magical express and what is the discount and who can stay with them, is it only immediate family or does, mother and father and brother and sister of the person in the military can stay and get the military discount.

Please much help, we are trying to plan for next year and I would love to get this info early so it stops with the questions, and i can explain and plan for next year

The resort is called Shades of Green. At one time it was the Golf Resort, and then the Disney Inn. After that it was sold to the Military. I believe they just did some major renovation, and construction.

From what I understand, the rate is based on your military rank. Rooms book up FAST, but they do give you a very nice rate at other Disney resorts.

The resort website would have the best info for you.

Thanks for your service!!!!

We stay at shades. My brother works for the Army. You can't get Magical Express or the Disney Dining plan through Shades. That said, it's a very nice resort, and just about a ten minute walk to Poly to catch the monorail. Or if you're lucky you can catch the "Shady Shuttle" a golf cart that takes your party to the end of the property. Shades also has buses that go to the TTC, and the parks. Hope this helps.
