The other night I was watching Cecil B DeMills The greatest show on earth from 1952, Anyway in the film they shot scenes of the real performers to give the film the real circus atmosphere, there is one scene where there is a prade of themed floats and costumed girls and fantasy charaters. one of the vinettes was with the Disney charaters that existed in the early fifties, these versions of the coustumes were the old wool and paper mache versions. Did Disney lincence the charaters to Ringling bros, for there shows, this is one I wasn't aware of until I saw the film a few years ago. Does Disney still Lincence in markets that are not mainstreme to the US market?
