question about FP availability for Soarin

I'm helping a friend who will be in Florida next week and plans to take her family to EPCOT for a day. Does anyone have an idea of how hard or easy it has been for off-site guest to get fp's for Soarin? I've told her to go with her family to Test Track when the park open, get a child swap ticket because there youngest can't ride and then head to the kiosk by Mission Space to get fastpasses while Dad and the older kids ride TT. Does that sound like it will work? Also, does she need to take everyones ticket with her to make the fp selections?

FP in its old form no longer exists. If they are staying off-site they will need to visit one of the many FP+ kiosks to reserve their three times. They will have to choose TT or Soarin' but MS! won't be a problem. Everyone's tickets will be needed to make the FP+ selections as well.

Based on guest reports, if they are there early in the morning around rope-drop they should not have any problems securing the FP+ reservations.
