Question about Forum Rules

I already read the post about proper conduct and such but still had one question. i have a podcast and was wondering what the rules are in regards to promotion on these forums. This has varied between forums i have been on, some consider it spam, while others consider it welcome and good discussion starters, and other boards don't want threads based on it but its ok in your signature. so before i post anything regarding that, i wanted to make sure it is ok forum behavior for this site. Thanks to anyone that can help.

I'd suggest sending a link to your podcast to Steve [wdwmagic] the site owner and ask if it's ok to promote it here.

Thanks for asking before going ahead. The way I see it is that the WDWMAGIC forums are here for discussion on WDW. They are not here for promotion. If a site happens to be linked to by a poster in the line of a discussion, fine, but I don't believe it's right to come here with the specific goal of self-promotion.

Ok. but for clarification, i wasn't just looking for self promotion. Most of the other forums I'm on are kinda slow on traffic and not many people are posting anymore. so i noticed that this community is clearly alive and well and just wanted to join in the fun. i was just making sure if i talked about it at that it wasnt against forum policy. Sorry but one more question, regarding "If a site happens to be linked to by a poster in the line of a discussion", does this mean have a link in your signature is against policy? if it is, i understand and all is clarified. Thanks so much for your time and help.

Signatures - There is no advertising or linking to external sites permitted on WDWMAGIC signatures without prior permission. You may link to your non-commerical site in your site profile (set in your USERCP), which will then appear as a hyperlink should someone view your profile. Any signatures with advertising, or links, will be deleted. Members who continue to advertise will ultimately be banned.
