Question about Extra Magic Hours for non- resort guests?

Hi All,
Quick Question for a friend of mine - when there are extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom at NIGHT (9-midnight), how do they do this for non-resort guests? Do they make them leave at 9 (assuming they are being honest?) or do you have to show your bracelet at each ride? We're just wondering how this works in the evenings. Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know if they've been making guests leave, but you do have to scan your Magic Band when entering the queue for any EMH ride after park closing. So, whether they get to hang out in the park or not, they will not be able to experience anything.

I am shocked they haven't said screw the on property perk of EMH and created a $50 Magic band for off-property guests to experience the 3 hr EMH at MK.

They will require you to show a band at the attractions, as others have stated. You are still perfectly welcome to walk through the shops, grab a bite to eat at the open restaurants, or just sit on a bench and enjoy the view, if you want. They won't kick out non-resort guests. Especially if they still want to buy something:greedy:

EMH use to be called E-Ride Nights at MK. It was a $10 purchase of a band. The park was EMPTY and you could walk on to all of the biggest rides in MK. They also had many of the characters out and even rare characters. When they converted that to EMH, there is no reason this should be opened to non-resort guests, even for a fee. The reason is there are far too many resort guests for this benefit already. Also, $50 foes not even come close to the increased cost of a resort room vs a non-resort room. I can get Better Than Deluxe accommodations offsite for about half the price of a Value resort. Even if it were $200 for a family of 4 to experience EMH, it would not make up the difference. If you want those EMH tickets for one night, simply get a Value resort room for that night, get the bands, and don't stay there. It would be cheaper for a family of 4 than paying $50 per person.

Thanks for the info I already knew. But I think you missed the point I was trying to make of disney looking for a way to make extra $ everywhere. Ok then book the room and don't stay. Still more $ in WDW pocket

If I remember, E-Ride nights were still only for resort guests, and like other events, it was hard ticketed.

The best thing about EMH? Walking into the Magic Kingdom as thousands of people are exiting. They're ending their night and you're just beginning yours! I went to WDW in the beginning of December 2013, and my group was able to accomplish everything that we spent a day doing in MK in an hour or two during EMH. I have to say that EMH is seriously a blessing...thank ya, Jesus!

They "gently" make you leave by closing any rides you want to go on, unless you have a wristband.

Then again, just BEING there, wandering around - is often enough. ;)

Correct, and they were awesome. They were first come, first served, and they sold a limited number of wristbands per night. My brother and I would stalk the front desk each morning (this was when they weren't even pre-announced) to see if they were selling them for that night. At $10, it was insanely cheap. For as empty as the park was (MK only), it was easily worth $25 or more. You could stay on just about every ride vehicle for as many cycles as you wanted.

Do not give them any 2015 ideas lol. There is already talk to eliminate EMHs (at least evening) - so I could see them adding a cost for this benefit of $50.

Hmmm... I don't think that is high enough. Remember the Disney resorts are probably at least 100 to 200 dollars more than comparable accommodations off-site... So I'm guessing maybe they will sometime start selling those bands for 150/day... 50 is way to cheap... if you could get them that cheap why would you ever stay on-site, you couldn't justify it.
