Question about DL's big 50th!

Hey everyone-
I know that Disneyland's 49th bday was on Satuday- I was wondering if they ever do anything special on the birthdate each year? Do they even acknowledge it? On that note, I was wondering if anyone knew if they were going to make a big deal out of July 17th, 2005-- or were they just going to celebrate each day the same as part of the overall celebration? I would love to be in the park on that day for my own enjoyment, but I think it would make the event even more special if they had at least a special parade/show/fireworks display- don't you think?

I can't say about Disneyland - I missed it! But I was in Disneyworld on Walt's 100th birthday (December 5th, 2001) and we didn't see anything that wasn't normally done for the celebration going on.

I'm sure there will be press events and movie stars and they will make a big deal out of it.

DL has a ceremony of some sort every year for its bday. It is usually the day when they announce things like new rides, etc.

Next year I am sure it will be a big deal. The celebration starts on May 5th, but everyone knows that the big day will be July 17th. I hope on that day they will announce new rides, etc for the future. It will be hard to get into the park and get a hotel room for that day.

As did I. Going to The DL Hotel on the 15th itself. Figure the park will be insane that day so I only want to see what they do that afternoon/night. The 16th will be my day to tour the park.Cant wait.
