Question about discounts

I'm planning on taking my best friend to wdw (her first trip ever!) in early February 2015. As record shows, there is always a discount available for this time, but isn't released until Oct+. My question is, if we book the trip now and a discount does pop up, could it be applied to the trip or would we have to cancel and rebook a new one? We want to start planning our ADR and such. Thanks!

Yes, discounts can usually be applied to existing reservations pending availability.

Ditto. Note that you have to call and apply the discount it doesn't automatically take it off
