Question about Christmas activities

We are going to WDW for the first time the week after Thanksgiving. We are planning to attend MVMCP. Are there any other 'Christmas only' events we need to plan for? My kids are 8 & 4. Is the Candlelight Processional for their age or mainly for adults? I don't want to miss anything but also don't want to plan things they won't be able to enjoy! Thanks!

Here is a video of a previous Candlelight Processional that will help you decide

We went the 1st week of December this past December with our DD5, DD20, & DGS1. W e didn't attend the MVMCP but, we did attend the Candlelight Processional which was beautiful! We also toured some Deluxe resorts to look at Christmas decorations which were very pretty! We enjoyed the Castle lighting & the Osbourne lights which were both amazing! There is always the Christmas Parade taping which we opted to skip to ride rides instead. We did see some fireworks go off periodically throughout that day.

Osborne Lights and watching the lighting the Castle Dream Lights are probably my two most favorite holiday activities. You can search YouTube for videos of all of this stuff to get an idea of what it's all like. Mad Russian Christmas is probably my fave for Osborne Lights.

I also like seeing the various resort decorations. The GF's are definitely my favorite. You can also pick up some treats at their gingerbread house. The gingerbread carousel over at BC is another fave of mine.

Even if you are planning on attending MVMCP, if you have a free night, I really like catching Holiday Wishes from outside of the park (like over at the Poly) since the perimeter effects are nice when viewing from outside the park.

We also found some nice live holiday music in DTD one of the times we went during the holidays.

Don't miss the Osborne Lights (DHS) and the Castle Lighting (MK). Lots of pretty resort decorations abound as well. Our two faves were the life size gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian and the chocolate carousel at the Beach Club.
