Question about Ariel's Grotto

Ok ok so i've been thinking - there is a young woman who dresses up as Ariel and sits in Ariels grotto in fantasy land with her legs all wrapped up in that big green tail. I know that the reason the guests wait off to the side out of site of Ariel until it is exactly their turn for the photo must be so the girls can switch in and out without causing an uproar with the kids. But how do they get her out? Do they take the tail off? Do they bring in a wheel chair?

That's funny. I don't know the answer. But we saw a mermaid show at an aquarium once and they wheeled the mermaids in on a big cart!

I don't know how WDW's works but back in the day at Disneyland, Ariel's chair would spin and take her backstage:
