Question about AK and Everest

I tried to search for this topic, so I apologize if I just missed it. I am going to WDW in 14 days so we will be there the last week in March. !:sohappy: My question is how do you know when Everest is operating? Usually we only spend a morning/half day in AK - but if Everest is open in the afternoon - I would switch it. Do you have to go to the park to find out? (obviously I know sometimes there are malfunctions but I just mean in general) Will cast members at the ride tell you when it is open? I know I read on here that there are random times when the ride is down for last minute touch ups. I was wondering if it will still be open since it is getting so close to the actual opening - any ideas? Thanks!

I Think the only real way of knowing is to go. Until the official opening it could be closed or open at any time.

"Generally" it's open. Plan based on that, but accept that it might not be.

It does close down to correct problems or for tweaking, but the vast majority of the time they try to do as much outside park hours as possible.

You will not find anything "official" in writing as to the status of the ride until after it opens on April 10. Even then, it will only be listed as closed when undergoing refurb for more than a day or two. That being said, assume it is open, and enjoy. Just beware that it DOES occassionally close for the day at this point (or a portion of the day).
