Question about Adventure Club?

The Adventurer's Club is one of the most uniqe experiences at WDW. It's kind of like a cross between a dinner theater (without the dinner) and a murder mystery weekend (without the murder). It's also really tough to actually describe. The setting is a 1930s eccentric club made up of various characters who have traveled all over the world (or at least claim to have). It's the annual New Year's open house, and the members are all anxious to show off, particularly in the annual Balderdash Cup, which is awarded to the member with the best adventure from the previous year. Large shows in the library (the radio broadcast, the Balderdash Cup ceremony, etc.) are interspersed with smaller shows in the Mask room, the main salon and the Treasure room.

In addition to the very eccentric club members, expect to meet some of the more "permanent" members hanging around. These include Fingers the haunted organ, Beezle (the club's resident spirit, who has taken up residence in a lantern in the Treasure Room), the many masks in the mask room (who often speak for themselves) and, of course, The Colonel (the Club's resident Gleemeister).

Unfortunately, a lot of guests don't "get" it. If you happen to enter the Club while a major show is in progress, it might not look like much is happening. Just grab a drink and hang out in the main salon. You'll meet up with the cast of characters soon enough.

Enjoy your visit, and Kungaloosh!

Edit: almost forgot to include admission prices. The standard Pleasure Island pricing structure applies. It's $11.66 for a single club admission, $23.38 for all the clubs in one night.

I think AC requires a multi-club admission even if it's the only club you attend.

Adventurer's Club was funny, but scared me half to death and I don't believe I'll ever go back (sober at least).

It was similar to Who Wants to be a Millionaire for me, where I sat in the audience terrified the whole time that they'd put my face up on the screen.

I am so afraid of being in front of people, I was completely terrified they'd pick me for something in one of their acts. I was too uncomfortable to even enjoy the humor.

The club is set up to make you forget about reality for an evening (at least, that's what it means to me). I try to visit it at least once or twice furing my visit.
And my favorite line is.....
Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. But always dress for the hunt.

Nope, Hank -- AC is NOT eligible for single club admission (sadly. It's the only thing on PI that I care about).

From Deb's site...
NOTE: The Single Club Ticket is ONLY good for: Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club, BET SoundStage Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, Motion or 8TRAX. This EXCLUDES the Comedy Club and the Adventurers Club. You can only purchase Single Club Tickets at Pleasure Island or Downtown Disney Guest Services.

It's a shame, too -- I can kind of see the Comedy Club since they do only certain seating times (so would your ticket be good for only one showing or for all showings that night). But the AC is an event in and of itself where you could easily spend the whole night.

I concur! I loved the experience, but really don't like being the center of attention, so I don't think I'll go back that often, or if I do, it will hopefully be with a large group of people.

There's just no escaping interaction with the characters or being pointed out (as I was by the Colonel...I loved the beer song, though!). I kinda wanted to hide in a corner and watch everything from there, as opposed to the absolute fanatics I was with.

It's like a show, except it's all around you, with various "shows" interspersed. The only "beginning" and "ending" are when the club opens and closes. You can come and go as you please any time in between. I think most people stay for at least 2 hours!

Btw, congrats on your reunion and future WDW trip!! I've been following your countdown! :)

The Signature Drink there... Its pretty good. But what I did learn is once you've seen one show. ITs pretty much the same show... I like dit but I think it will be awhile before I go back there....

The same show?

Which shows did you see?

Granted, the Treasure Room and Mask Room shows rely on the same gimmicks each time, but they are written differently for each character that does them throughout the evening.

And the each Library show of the evening is distinctly different.

All in all, over a dozen different shows a night, and you can't possibly see them all in a night because several times there are two going on simultaneously.

You definitely get the most bang for your entertainment dollar at the AC!
