I would love to do this NEXT year as my daughter is only abuot 41 inches at the moment. However from what I'm reading online it really doesn't sound like there is anything for smaller kids to do. Am I wrong in this?

from what i've read(having not actually been there) you have the overall village of Hogsmeade and the flight of the hippogrif(i butchered that spelling, i know haha). i'm not really sure the height restrictions on the harry potter ride. If she is tall enough however, i'm not sure if she would like it or get scared as there are many scary elements on the ride.
so things to do? Walk around, eat, drink, ride a small roller coaster. call it a day

I think it's 48 inches. To me the ride was only a small part of the overall HP experience. If your daughter has read the books or seen the movies, and won't be too frustrated at missing the ride, I'd take her before she's 48 inches.

I have been there ...

Olivanders is pretty popular too. 3 brromsticks was cool if you are a fan of the series.

You know the queue for Forbidden Journey has some real good parts too.

It would seem to me that it would be important that she knew before she went if she would be able to get on the big ride or not. If she was going to be able to go again in a short time when she would be tall enough, I would wait to take her when she could experience the whole thing. Forbidden Journey is awesome!

The overall land is amazingly well themed as is the queue for the Forbidden Journey ride. Even though your daughter is too short to ride, if she is familiar with the books she will definitely enjoy it. Flight of the Hippogriff is also a nicely themed coaster that she will be able to ride. Not to mention all the cool shops, and the Three Broomsticks restaurant.

The atmosphere alone is worth it. She should be able to ride Flight of the Hippogriff. Go through the queue of Forbidden Journey...it's called the castle tour. Don't stand in line, tell the attendant at the entrance you want to take the castle tour, then you'll be directed into the not-used-yet Express Line where you can walk through. You can take your time and all the pictures you want. The portraits actually look like portraits!
