Query for past cast members...

I would like to know the craziest thing you ever saw as an employee.. either other cast members or guests..

I can name a few:

Best guest encounter that comes straight to mind (there were plenty): Had a great British couple approach me while I worked at a certain Epcot pavilion, saying they couldn't find any TSRs to eat at. I had someone take my spot while I walked off and called a few places I knew often had availability. Found them a reservation a Via Napoli, and they were thrilled. What I WASN'T expecting was for them to find me several hours later, saying that was one of the best meals they'd ever had and they'd be sure to leave a good word for me on the way out. Got the notification from guest relations a few days later. :)

Also, at a different location, I was selling ride photos at a ride that usually gets pretty dead at night. One fun-loving group was having fun riding over and over again and checking out their poses each time. Every time they came through I helped them out suggesting new poses for them (something I like doing in my own time). They had a blast. The managers loved it too since they ended up buying what were probably a solid half-dozen of those ride photos from me on their way out ;)

One time at a merch shift in Frontierland (I worked ALL over, I picked up at least two or three locations at every park), I got bored and picked up a toy rifle off a gun rack (Frontierland CMs are one of the few allowed to play with toy guns). I quietly crouched by the Turkey Leg stand next to the merch cart, holding the rifle while closely watching the birds that always fly around that area. If a guest saw me, I'd say quietly "the Turkey Leg stand's getting empty". Usually got a laugh out of that one.

Worst guest encounter that comes straight to mind: At that Epcot pavilion again, one (possibly drunk) guest in an ECV rammed HARD straight into the glass doors at the pavilion entrance on her way out. The door fell clean off its hinges and hit the ground hard, making a loud crash that echoed all around the pavilion. The lady cursed loudly at the door on the ground, swerved around it and took off, didn't say a word to me. I just watched the whole thing dumbfounded, until I left and called maintenance. I remember the lovely tarps that sat over the gaping hole in our pavilion exit while we waited for maintenance to come by.

No physical assaults or really awful encounters with me personally, thankfully, although I did hear about them. If anything other CMs often called me over to help settle conflicts, I wasn't one to instigate them.

My girlfriend says her craziest story was the guest she saw jump into the cranberry bog at the Food & Wine entrance and take a little swim. I'm sure it was refreshing until park security showed up. (She worked World Showcase so she has much wilder stories).

Strangest "it's a small world encounter". A man from Nova Scotia came to the Canadian pavilion and wanted to know if anyone from NS worked there. I was on break at the time but they called my break room to see if I would be up soon. I enjoy talking to other Maritimers so I came up and we chatted and found we didn't live too far away from each other. A few weeks later he met a woman at a social back in Nova Scotia - they hit it off and started dating. He showed her photos from his Disney trip including one with me. That woman is my mother and the man is now my step-father.

That's such an amazing story, thanks for sharing!

Excellent. I'm there next week. I have plenty of old stories to tell from my glory days working Epcot (and OT at PI) in the mid-late 90's. Where should we meet. Bring a credit card with a good limit. I'm a Canadian - Maritimer. We drink as a hobby.

PS I like vodka and beer - not necessarily together or in that order.
