All aboard the nopes train to nopesville!
Alright, let’s keep in mind that this story comes from The Daily Mail, so we’ve definitely gotta take it with a grain of salt. That being said, it’s still seriously creepy.
Here’s the rundown: The puppet’s former owner, a man who wishes to only be identified as John, said that he inherited the old man doll after his father passed away. He believes that there were spirits that had attached themselves to the doll, much like the now infamous Annabelle (as seen in The Conjuring). One night, he says that he awoke to the sensation of being choked, something he believes was the cause of these spirits.
He tells The Daily Mail:
I cleared out all of my dad’s belongings apart from the puppet, which I left on the drawer by my bed for some reason and that night it felt like I was being choked. I was wide awake in bed and thought I saw a shadow move from one side of the window to the other and worried something was trying to scare us. Then without warning my throat suddenly went really tight, I’ve never had anyone’s hands around my throat before so it was really scary.
Soon after this incident, John gave the doll to paranormal investigator Jayne Harris, who lives in Stourbridge, West Midlands. Harris apparently has been studying haunted dolls for 17 years and began her investigations on the doll, which resulted in the below video.
What you’re seeing below is the doll placed in a glass case that has supposedly been blessed with holy water. The case is sealed and, “…there are not any holes or space for anything to sneak in there either.”
Harris also adds:
For us there is no point in faking your own evidence as it’s only tricking yourself – this footage is real. Now we’re going to keep filming with motion sensors as this is just one video and we want to build a bigger picture currently we don’t know the name or anything else about the spirit. Our ultimate goal is to find out as much as we can about the spirit and then try to understand why he is still here.
According to John, once the doll was taken away by Harris, he and his wife have felt much safer at their home.
