Puchasing Tickets from Third Party

I've always purchased my tickets as part of my trip package through Disney, but now we are DVC members and going this fall using our Annual Passes we bought at a discount last winter. My girlfriend however does not have the AP so I'm looking at buying a ticket for her from one of the third party vendors (probably AAA) who are honoring the old ticket prices for a few more days.

I wanted to confirm from anyone who has experience with this that the tickets I buy are good until we begin using them in the fall. Basically, does the 14 day expiration period begin when we use the pass on our first day in September? Are there any other hidden tricks I should be aware of as I'm buying?

a AAA ticket is as good as an official WDW ticket (likely better because of a discount). Yes, a ticket expires 14 days after initial use.

Great - thanks for the confirmation. Like I said, never bought them this way before and don't want to show up to the parks with problems in a few months.
