I was just thinking about this today... I'm very random like this... anyways... Just some info and tips for those of you travelling with kids...

I know you keep an eye out on your kids and make sure they don't wander... but sometimes... it just happens. Please prepare your kids in case it does.

* Show them what a Cast Member name tag looks like, and tell them to seek out a CM if they do get lost.

* Write down your name, cell phone number, hotel room, meeting place location, whatnot, and give it to them to give to a Cast Member if they become lost.

And most importantly, when you do become reunited... give them a hug. They were probably just as scared as you were.

For those of you travelling with kids that you feel are old enough to do things on thier own... set up a designated time and meeting place to check in. A lot of families I have noticed bring down Cell Phones and Walkie-Talkies. These are great things to have.

Anyone else who has any tips or whatnot to offer... please do :)

tks Fantasia Boi.. when our oldest granddaughter was 3 she took advantage of her baby sister screaming for Mickey ( the real mickey) when we were leaving the show at Mickey's Starland and went out the door and across to the play area .. the CM's were great ..but after that I always dressed the girls alike .. that way I could point to the one I didnt lose and say "dressed like that" cuz when your upset over a missing child suddenly you cant remember your own name ..much less what the child was wearing :)

thats great info.im a father of 2 and we lost my daughter once at the sw fla fair.we watched her like a hawk but she slipped away for a second.i thought i was gonna have a stroke right there.u think of the worst things. i lived in ft lauderdale when adam walsh was kidnapped and killed in hollywood which was 10 minutes away so it hit close to home.even the best parents can loose sight of their kids especially in a place like disney.

They say you can get a special name tag for your children at the baby centers in the parks. Is this true? What do they look like? Is it something you just fill out, or are they blank and you write your own stuff in? Do they stick on or tie? Just wondering, because my son is too young to hand someone a slip of paper, so I would rather have a name/info tag for him. I am thinking sticking it to his back, or tying it to a belt loop. What do you think? What info should I put on it besides our hotel name and my cell phone number. Should I write his name on it? He knows what it is. Should I write our names?

I have always heard its a bad idea to put a childs name on his/ her shirt for all to see .. someone calls thier name and they think this person knows them .. I have seen this actually happen only it was my husband at a state fair .. he had his name on the back of his belt and a carnie called out to him .. for a moment we were stunned wondering how this person knew him .. a child might not think twice about going to a stranger that knows his name. If they do have special tags then I would ask them the best thing to put on the tag .. it might be your last name, and a resort / hotel #. Disney seems very well trained when it comes to lost children.

I've seen people with all sorts of things... sometimes a lil necklace or bracelet with the info on it is fine... just whatever you feel is appropriate. Nothing to make the kid feel uncomfortable of course.

The smartest family I ever saw at Disney was the one that dressed everybody - from Grandma and Grandpa right down to the infant in the stroller - in matching turquoise t-shirts that you could probably spot from the airport! The backs read "Smith-Jones Family Visits WDW!" (or something like that) - and I'll bet they didn't lose sight of each other for a minute!

"While your group is together, now is a great time to pick a place to meet if you become seperated in the park. Should you become separated, stop by City Hall, on Main Street USA for assistance. Guest Relations at City Hall can also help you plan your day, make dining arangements, or provide a special guided tour of the Magic Kingdom. As you approach the entrance, please keep your party together, and have your tickets ready. If you are travelling from another Disney theme park, please have your tickets and handstamp ready, as you enter the Magic Kingdom!"

Tyler do you turn the volume off in the cab when you are driving, I know a lot of the drivers do that? I was just wondering...

As for the missing child thing I recommend buying the 5 dollar replica CM tag they sell. They work great. And all the CM's will know the childs name just in case.

It depends... some trains have loud cab speakers, other trains are so quiet you can barely hear them. On the loud trains, I turn it down, and the quiet trains, I turn it up... I just like to barely hear it so I can make sure it's queued properly.

It also depends on my mood... if I'm not really in a talkative mood, I will turn it up... Other days, I will be in a Live Speiling mood, and I will do them all myself... (I've been told I have a very good voice for doing so...)

One thing that I always keep turned up is the Train Radio... so that I know what's going on around the beam...
