Here's the story of my proposal at MGM. For those of you who need a proposal idea, feel free to use it. I absolutely loved it. Just make sure your girlfriend doesn't mind something public:animwink:
On October 5, we went to MGM Studios. My fiance said he had to make some calls and left me watching the Beauty and the Beast show. After the show, he told me we had fast passes for the Great Movie Ride at noon. I started getting suspicious because I knew the great movie ride had no fast passes (So this will likely only work with someone who doesn't go to Disney all the time). However, I played along.
When we got to the ride, they took our fast passes and escorted us in the exit. They also put us in the front row all by ourselves. We went through the entire ride, enjoying ourselves as usual. At the very end of the ride, our guide started talking about "a year of a million dreams" and said "now we're going to make someone's wish come true." With that, he gave his microphone to my fiance, who got down on one knee and said: "it took me years to find you, but only a few months to know I loved you, and wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. One of the best moments of my day is knowing I get to spend it with you, but you can make this one of the best moments of my life by saying 'yes' to this question: will you make me the luckiest man on earth, and give me my happy ending by marrying me?" I said yes, (twice because the first time was not on the microphone) and everyone on the ride and in the entrance cheered and applauded. I was so shocked and excited!
As for the planning, my fiance told me that after leaving me at Beauty and the Beast, he walked over to Guest Services at MGM, and said (and I quote) "hi, I'd like to propose to my girlfriend on a ride today, think you can help me out?" Luckily, they were more than happy to help, even with such short notice. He told them the Great Movie Ride was where he wanted to propose, and they called over there to see if it could be done. They said "OF COURSE," and were very excited. Guest Services then sent him over to the ride to speak with the cast members about the proposal. They discussed parts of the ride for him to propose on, then had him ride it when he couldn't remember all the scenes on the ride. (I go to Disney all the time whereas he only goes once in a while) He decided that the end of the ride (which ends with the entire car applauding) was the perfect place for the proposal. The cast members also arranged to sit us up front, (the front is handicap accessible so you can kneel for the proposal) and deliberately let in as many people as possible to ride and wait so that TONS of people would be applauding. After the proposal, the cast members were so excited, and they took MANY pictures of us on the ride. They also followed us outside to take more in front of the ride. It was just wonderful, and the staff was so sweet and excited for us. They also gave us tons of pins as souveniers to celebrate our engagement.
So that's my Disney proposal. If you need an idea, feel free to use it. Also, it's good to know that the Disney staff will try to accommodate you and your proposal ideas, even with short notice!
