PROMISE of TOMORROW

Hiya, Folks! Which attractions, do you say, focus on the major topic of Disney attraction history: THE PROMISE OF TOMORROW? I don't necessarily mean a spaceman blasting aliens, but an attraction where you took knowledge, imagination, and creativity to show the promise of tomorrow from Disneyland, the 1964 NY Worlds Fair, or Walt Disney World.

A common technique is a theme song with a message, a trip from the past to the far reaches to the future, etc. Basically, it means "new horizons" of tomorrow, or the concept of dreaming and doing - and how it relates to you! :)

Give us an explaination, if you want!

Carousel of Progress (1964- )
Horizons (1983-1999)
Spaceship Earth (1982-2004?)
Timekeeper (1995- )
The Magic Skyway (1964-1966)
The World of Motion (1982-1996)
Journey into Imagination (1983-1998)
Delta Dreamflight/Take Flight (1989-1998)
The American Adventure (1982- )

Hey Griz!

My picks would be:

Carrousel of Progress, American Adventure, and the Hall of Presidents.

On my first visit to WDW, the CoP was the first attraction I knew every word of the song to. Ironically, the song was "Now is the time, etc....." "Now" somehow illuminated the distance we had both come and have yet to advance. Even now, its somewhat comforting to know that "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" and promise of a new day just a dream away.

I have to admit, I get all sentimental in the other two shows (AA and HoP) I think, because as Americans, when the past is transposed so immediately with the present, we get the feeling that "We have overcome"... and that we will again!

That ending of HoP when the sky turns into the American flag and the music rises gets me every time.

Lets all get out there and do something good for someone else today!

God Bless us All! ...and God Bless America!!!
