Professional Position - Hot then Cold Response?

Hello all,

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have interviewed with a Disney recruiter about 6 weeks ago for a Project Architect position in LBV. I thought the interview went extremely well and I waited for a few weeks to hear back about a second interview or trip down to O-town. I finally called the recruiter back about 3 weeks ago now to get a status on the position and he told me that he had just gotten an email from his boss/supervisor of the people that were still under consideration for this job and that I was one of them. He told me to expect a follow-up call from the supervisor by the end of the week to go through the next steps. I never did get that call and I have left messages once a week for the recruiter to find out the status. I have since gotten no response.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips concerning this and if this is the typical situation for these jobs. I applied for this position back in early May and to have gotten such the positive response and then gone cold it just really frustrates me. I really just want a sense of closure at this point if I didn't get the job but I can't seem to get that. The job is still listed on their disneycareers.com website by the way.

Any advice? Should I just call the recruiter (who has been my main contact) every day to get an answer or just wait on their call back? I feel like I'm so close to my dream job and I'm extremely well qualified for it but not feeling the love from Disney... :veryconfu

Thanks!!!

Well I did get great news via email today from my recruiter. I am still under "strong consideration" for the position and they haven't followed up with me because his boss has been on vacation for the past few weeks. They should be contacting me soon.

By the way, does anyone know what AF&E means? The recruiter mentioned something about reps in AF&E giving him an update on me. What is that?

Thanks!

Thanks for your support everyone. Hopefully I will be helping to build the magic for everyone in the near future.

Also, I'm thinking AF&E is Architecture, Facilities and Engineering. I believe the job is for the WDW Resort and not WDI.
