Problems with Posting Lists

When you view a users profile, and click on the 'Postings' tab.. you get a list of all the user's posts.

The listing is supposed to show the first line of each post.. but you find many of the posts are empty in the listing. The problem seems to be quoted posts... if the post starts with a quote (which many many do), the listing does not skip the quoted portion when displaying the first line of the post. But I don't see this on every user... like viewing my own listing seems to be fine.

But look at the post listing of this user - http://forums.wdwmagic.com/members/insiderimagine.74713/

You start to see the problem by the time you get on page 2+

It seems to occur when a user puts in a blank line as the first line of a reply with a quote. The posts that are OK do not have that blank line as the first line. An automatic space is added between a quote and a reply, so it is not necessary for the user to add that blank line.

A quick test of the forum's ability to check for blanks...

Hrmm... I can't reproduce that.. and I always put a empty line between my quotes and body of text as it makes it more readable as I type.

Yeah your posts above do not show the issue. It may not be a blank line but some other character that got inserted. I will have a look in the database at one of those affected users and see what char is in there.
