can you add a debit card to you keys to the world(?) door key, or is it just a credit card? have a nationwide anglia debit card which is free to use overseas at the moment and are offering good exchange rates.

If it has a Mastercard or Visa logo on it, it can be used. (I used my MasterCard debit card back in September)
If it doesn't have the logo, I don't believe that it can.

Also, charges to the card are put through the credit card system. They are not PIN-based transactions.

To clarify...

You can use an international debit card such as a VISA or Master Card, but you cannot use a national debit card such as Solo or Mastro.

We weren't really sure if our debit cards would work or not so we just got ourselves a credit card from nationwide (also no charges for foreign purchases).

It's simple to do so as long as you have a cople of weeks before your trip you wont have a problem. You can always cancel the card / just not use it when you get back.
