Pro/Con Disney Vacation Editorial

I am only through the first couple of paragraphs, and I am already rolling my eyes. Things that have jumped out at me so far:

- She calls it "the happiest place on Earth," which is Disneyland.
- She claims that at age 15 she was outraged at the price of a fountain drink, which I find difficult to believe.
- She refers to a man she dated in her 20's as a "boy."
- She has used the phrases "rampant consumerism" and "cultural forgery."

I don't think this is going to end well.

ETA: Okay, the second writer -- the one who is pro-Disney! -- says, "I recognize I'm writing from a place of privilege." I'm out. I can't take any more of the smarmy, elitist, condescending nonsense in this article.
I will say. Disney is and always has been over priced. But as a career Disney attendee, covered in obscure Disney art, I see myself as part of the problem. Not the solution. No one likes standing in lines. But imagine for a moment, a Disney that was easily affordable. The capacity would be reached every day of the year. There would be no slow times. And more cool stuff wouldnt be constantly constructed. I love my exorbitantly priced Disney trips. And will continue to do so. 120 times and counting. I'm a WDW person by choice. But DL definitely has its share of better things. Let the ranting begin!!

The Pro writer seemed to have failed to convey why he was pro Disney, other than nostalgia. So the cons: crowds, costs, tantrums, emotional exhaustion, physical exhaustion, etc. Pros: someone who went as a kid might be nostalgic about it.

I didn't go as a kid, but I take my daughter every year (so far). I agree with all the cons. But the pros that weren't mentioned tip the scale for me. My daughter being in her princess mother ship. The way her face lights up all day long. The snacks are great and the food is delicious (although not cheap or healthy). It's a break from the real world, and unlike world travel (which I love very much) you don't have to think about anything while you're there: food, transportation, entertainment.
