Private Restaurant

My wife and I are planing a cruise on Fantasy. We are looking into the deluxe room with a balcony. We just cruised on Celebrity and when you stay in one of their AquaClass rooms you get a different restaurant for dinner and breakfast so you don't have to dine in the main dining room. We liked this because that restaurant has only tables that seat 2. We don't like eating at table full of strangers. Does Disney offer a restaurant like this? Or can we choose to sit a table for two in the main dining room?

No difference in restaurants for anyone on DCL. You can request a table for just the two of you from DCL. Have it noted on your reservation by your travel agent or just give DCL a call. I have been successful with that in the past even if it is just a request. There is a place for dining changes on the first day, go there to verify that they granted your request and if they have not, try to get it changed then.

You can also choose to dine at Remy and at Palo where you will always get your own private table. Both these come with an upcharge (25 per person for Palo and 75 per person at Remy). You can book reservations for Palo and Remy (one night in each) in advance online (if this is your first cruise with DCL, booking window opens 75 days before your cruise), or if everything is already booked up, you can get reservations on the first day on board. You might even be able to get multiple nights in Palo and Remy, if you want to.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary on our DCL cruise in 2014. We requested a table for two with the concierge ahead of time and they confirmed it. We're not social people and being forced to talk to strangers while eating is one of my worst nightmares. It worked out marvelously well.

You do not have to talk to your table mates. My girls and I have cruised several times and have always been assigned a table with other families. We usually say "hi" when we get there and then just talk among ourselves. The other families did the same.
