Priority Seating

Is there a general rule as to how early you can make priority seating reservations? For example, if AK opens at 9:00, can I make PS for 8:00? If so, any experience with pre-opening PS?

If a restaurant opens before the park in question, yes you can make a PS for that restaurant. There will be a CM at the park gate with a clipboard. This clipboard will have every guests name that has a PS before park opening. Once they check you off, they will allow you into the park to go to your restaurant. It's a weird feeling being the only ones walking around the park.
