Priority Seating Question

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could help me with this problem.

Last year at Disney was the first time we have been there and we havent had a walk on to Chef Mickey at 5pm - thats wen we usually go in the past and have never had a problem. Also in booking for some other places everything seemed to be fully booked.

So this year thought i would call up and book for meals but today called up and of course you have to enter your booking number or home phone number. Now we dont get our boking number usually until we get our tickets and on the correspondance we have had with our travel agents nothing has this on it. I could ask them if they could find this out.

But im wondering whether it is possible for international guests to book ahead via the 407-wdw-dine number or if there is a way to get around using the booking number or phone number. Of course if i was to enter our number it would not be accepted.

Any help appreciated.
cheers, stuart

Just put in any phone number to get past the menus.

The live person will ask for a local number or hotel that you are staying at. You could explain your situation then.

The asking of your phone number or is to assist the Reservation Agent in HELPING you. By entering your phone number your household will auto populate on the agent's screen before you are connected and they will be better able to assist you in booking your dinning. If you don't have or don't wish to enter this information, PLEASE do not enter a random number but instead simply enter a 0. Do keep in mind that the agent will still ask you for your phone number to book a dinning priority seating.

As far as entering your reservation number, that is simply another option to auto populate your household information for the agent.

Again, this information will speed up your call, and since we know you are paying long distance we want to help you as quickly and efficently as possible.

Also, when booking a priority seating, always give your HOME phone number, not a local or random phone number. We use the number as a back-up to retrieve your priority seating if you misplace or forget your confirmation number, therefore you should give us a number you have memoried. We do not call you (we do know you're on vacation, not at home) nor do we ever save or maintain this number once you have dinned.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Cheers for the help. I was just thinking that the number would make it a sortof US / Canada thing only. In the UK there is never anything about making seating reservations really so thats why i was wondering when i heard the promt for the number. Oh well ill just try again, cheers for the help!

just remember that u.s. phone number are 10 numbers. so just make up like 407 number and tell them it is your cell phone number. the only time they would call you if they had a change your p.s. cause they sold or closed it for some reason.

Again, please let me assure you that Disney WILL NOT call the number you give when you make a priority seating. The number is used as a reference number for your priority seatings incase you forget or misplace your confirmation number. PLEASE do not make up a number, this is doing you no benefit. If the restaurant needs to contact you about your seating time, they will contact your Hotel and leave a message, not call the phone number you provide.

If you need to call back to verify multiple priority seatings, the dinning agent can retrieve all of your priority seatings at once by entering in the phone number you provide us. This is great if you want to make a final updated list for yourself before you arrive. You also can get a printed list once you check in by asking at Guest Services at your Disney Resort, and providing the phone number that all your priority seatings are listed under.

I hate to do this, as I generally hate when people write in to counter what someone with more knowledge on the subject has posted, but......

Here's a funny story to blow that procedure away:

I was down there last September during hurricane Jeanne. I had a Priority Seating for dinner one night at the California Grill and drove over to the Contemporary around 6 o'clock. I was told by the guard at the gate that the whole resort was closed due to the weather and that I should have been called. Seriously....if I was called, I never would have left my resort!

Well, the guard was right! When I got back to NY 3 days later, there was a message on my home answering machine telling me my California Grille reservations were cancelled due to the storm.

We still laugh about that......but we're easily amused! :D
