Prince Caspian Seems Certain
The Pevensies return to Narnia.
by Paul Davidson

January 6, 2006 - The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is enjoying a fantastic theatrical run and proving to be even more popular than its competition – notably Peter Jackson's King Kong remake. If there was any question about a sequel before, it's pretty much been answered.

Word is that Prince Caspian, the next logical story in the series, has been given approval. The story takes the four Pevensie children back to Narnia, summoned by Queen Susan's horn centuries after Narnia was freed from the White Witch's spell.

NarniaWeb claims to have inside information that Douglas Gresham, co-producer of LWW and stepson to the late C.S. Lewis, is already at work on the next film. Another website, Dark Horizons, quotes an official Walden Media message board post as confirming that the four young actors and actresses have all signed onto Prince Caspian, and Andrew Adamson has agreed to direct again. Adamson has strongly hinted at returning for the next sequel or two, but given no firm commitment to Prince Caspian in public.

The clock is running, due to the necessity of making the next few films while the children are still young. Expect to see more official announcements in the coming weeks, and an expedited production schedule.

I saw the movie and thought it was excellent, so I started reading the books, and I am just starting #3 right now. Doesn't "The Horse and His Boy" come next? I'm not familiar with all of the ordering of the books. Isn't Prince Caspian #4 in the series? I was just wondering.

Yeah, that is what I thought, but the article said that Prince Caspian was logically next, and I am just missing the logic, I think. Oh well, thanks for the help!

Prince Caspian is logically the next movie because that's the next story that the four Pevensie children are in. I don't want to give too much away about the other books, but the horse and his boy is a side story that happens during the glory years (I think that's the right name) of narnia when the Pevensie children are older, and their still kings and queens of narnia. Also, Prince Caspian was the 2nd book C.S. Lewis wrote. He acutally started with Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe and wasn't planning on making a series, but eventually all seven books got written and the order of the books were rearranged later to make them chronilogical with time. Does that make sense?

So Prince Caspian is probably next because A) It continues the Story of the Pevensie children and B) So the same kid actors can play the kids without getting too old

I'm glad that you liked the movie so much that your reading the books. I love the books, and I just got more into them after each book I read, I think I ended up reading Last Battle in like 2 days.

Ok, that does make a lot of sense, thanks. I agree that books get more and more interesting. I'm not a big reader, but the ones I have read have been pretty fast. I sort of hit a brick wall because of classes, but I still read a little of them each day.
