I think it's 9 cents a pound if you buy it by the ton.
I didn't know he was going all the way to China for a cup of tea.

You know, he might be on to something here. What if he pitched his idea for the pursuit of the ultimate cup of tea in China, to maybe the Food Network or Travel Channel? They could sponsor his expedition and film it. Oh wait . . . he only wanted to know what a cup of tea costs in China. Guess I was getting a little ahead of myself here . . . oops.

Tea in China can be very inexpensive. You can buy decent green tea for around US$1 for 250 grams (8.75 ounces)
FYI
A cup of coffee in China costs around 30 Yuan. This works out to about $4.40
