Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had a clue how likely it is that you get to ride or see an attraction during its preview phase, such as the new parts if Fantasyland that's opening in December but previewing in late November. I'm planning a late fall trip and it would fall before the official opening date but during the preview dates and obviously would love to be able to see some if that! Thanks for any help!!!

I haven't previewed a new attraction in years, both due in part to me not having gone to the world in a very long time and the fact that there hasn't been much to see in the past while. I think it's extremely likely if you keep checking up on things in the area, or see a lot of people entering a place that people would otherwise not enter. I think cast members even call out to and encourage you to preview it, too (that's what I remember them doing with Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor). You may or may not have to be some sort of passholder, though.

The attractions will be open to the public during the preview dates (starting Nov 19th) so I think that odds are pretty good that you will be able to see them at most times during that period.

The attractions are only will be accessible to AP holders during this time as a preview. They will be sending emails to APs asking them to register if they care to attend. Also keep checking on the WDW AP site as further information is to come.

Sorry, that is incorrect. The Disney Parks Blog has confirmed the the Novemeber preview will be for the public:

"Jennifer are the November previews open to the general public?

Jennifer Fickley-Baker on August 8th, 2012 at 10:30 am

Yes. The preview period will give park guests a chance to experience the new area/attractions prior to the grand opening. During a preview period, attractions may have limited operating hours."

You are extremely likely to be able to see it from November 19th onwards, whuch is the beginning of hte preview period. The land officially opens Dec 6. During the preview period, it may close temproarily, or have limited hours, but it will be their intention to operate fully.

Before November 19, there remains a chance to see everything, as they will need some operational testing with guests prior to the start of the full scale previews from November 19th.

There are then also AP previews etc.

So in a nutshell, arriving from Nov 19th onwards should give you an almost certainty of seeing it.

I adore Jennifer Fickley-Baker. She always has the best scoop.

For some reason, my husband thinks her name is fun to say. He sees me reading her columns and then he starts singing this song (set to the old "Mele Kalekemaka" Hawaiian Christmas song):

"Jennifer Fickley-Baker is the one who knows...
what others suppose...
about quel quelque chose..."

And he does a little dance and it's funny. He kind of rolls his eyes at me spending so much time online reading and talking about Disney stuff but he has a basement full of model trains that I think are a waste of time and money sometimes so I leave him be and he leaves me be.

But I do like his "Jennifer Fickley-Baker" song.

I've never been able to participate in a passholder preview. I don't believe any details have been communicated officially, does anyone have a guess as to how much earlier passholder previews will be before general previews?

Most likely a few days to a week or 2 before public previews or at a specific time of day for APs only. (ie. hours in morning or at night only for APs)
