for those of you who saw my other thread on this, this one is more defined and planned out

So heres the concept
A dark ride similar to MM themed to the Pixar short "Presto".
for those of you who arnt familiar with the short

"Vaudeville-era magician Presto DiGiotagione[a] is famous for a hat trick wherein he pulls his rabbit Alec Azam out of his top hat. The short begins with an unfed and irritated Alec locked in a cage, unable to reach his carrot.[4] After Presto returns from eating a meal, he begins practicing his act with Alec, revealing that his top hat is magically connected to a wizard's hat kept backstage with Alec, so that when Presto reaches into the top hat, his hand appears out of the wizard's hat, allowing him to grab Alec and pull him out of the top hat. He intends to feed Alec the carrot, but realizes that he is late for the show and rushes off to the stage without doing so, much to Alec's anger. Presto tried to start the performance, but Alec has reached his limit and refuses to cooperate until he is given the carrot. Presto then spends the rest of the show trying to catch Alec through the opening between his top hat and the wizard's hat."

In the ride guests would join Presto and Alec backstage as the two prepare for that nights performance. Just like the cartoon Presto won't give Alec the carrot, so while Presto prepares with the guests Alec causes trouble for both Presto and the guests.
Guests will be swept around the dressing rooms, halls and all over the theater while Alec uses magic to try to get his carrot. Many of the gags and scenes from Mystic Manor would be altered to fit the new theme and the monkey.. who's name escapes me would be replaced by alec.

Some scenes would include classic magic tricks along with some special ones, including the hat gag from the short.

As for location i'm thinking a whole new mini land behind the Main street theater and Tomorrowland called Alacazam Alley, which would feature this attraction a shop and a magic themed restaurant

I think it would do great in MK, Main street has already has the turn of the century theme and also there's the new magician mickey at town hall
I suppose it would fit the best at MK or at Pixar Place but I think Main Street is fine the way It is!

im not suggesting any changes to the current main street, just a tiny expansion

and im using Pixar characters but I DO NOT want this to be heavily affiliated with pixar

I actually love this idea. I feel uncomfortable with a Mystic Manor copy because it is just another version (though amazing) of HM and doesn't feel right in AK to me. This would be a great way to use the creative concept, but with a new theme to fit WDW's needs.

thanks, of course Presto's wouldn't have any dark aspects like the random ones in MM

Seems like that would be a great fit for the Town Square Theater being that Mickey's magician-theme being there, that's half the queue already. I'd only say that maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to dismiss the whole Pixar aspect of it and make it appear more generic.... I guess that sounds bad but I find it appropriate.

Abracadabra! Thread resurrected. Sounds like a fun ride idea!

The land once reserved for Main Street Theater could do well with a Mystic Manor dark ride. And if not Presto! specifically I do like this concept and the exploratory idea of marrying Main Street USA with Tomorrowland. There's definitely something there waiting to be realized. In my armchair attempts, I had previously envisioned a "House of Magic" expansion that tied-in with the Main Street Theater/Mickey and the Magician show with the mini-land thematically blurring the lines between Magic, Mystery and pseudo-science.

A magic-themed MM could be really interesting! Imagineering has come up with many Magic-themed concepts over the years. Surely they can dust off the plans and make something work?
