Preferred Parking -$35

Has anyone done this? Pros/Cons?

Thank you

If you'd like to be able to walk to your car at reasonable distance at DHS, EPCOT or AK then it might be worth it. I wouldn't buy it when parking at the TTC as you'd basically just be getting a shorter tram ride if anything.

Overall, I'd say no.

Even at DAK it's saving maybe 5 minutes of walking. The other places, maybe 10 minutes if the park is packed and you're in the last lot.

Only if they paid me the $35.00 to park there. I certainly wouldn't pay it. It just isn't worth it and it is a concept that I just do not understand. If one has a disability, they have special parking for that. If you don't and you are going to spend your whole day walking what degree of lazy and lack of logic does that indicate? Showing off maybe? Ok, fine, it's your money not mine.

We are "get to the parks an hour early" group. When we park, we are near the front already. Disney wants to suck as much money out of people as possible. They assume many people parking are offsite guests saving $1,000s and want to get more of their money. Only 1 person needs to walk to get the car. The rest can wait to get picked up. We do this sometimes at night, but that is all. Moving forward, we may have a handicap pass which will change the game for us as well in the future.

Since AP holders get free parking, how much extra would they have to pay for this? Or is the $35 considered to be an add-on to already free parking?

Our group ranges in ages from 3 to 82. My Mom isn't handicapped but I thought if it would help her, then we would do it. We aren't the show off type of family.

Is there a tram to take hub form the parking lot to the entrance of DHS, Epcot and AK?

As usual, every situation has exceptions. I just always assume that people that have legitimate reasons for doing so would know that I am not referring to them. However, from what I've seen and experienced at Disney, those parking spaces for the most part require more walking then regular parking. Disabled parking is closer to facilitate wheelchairs and scooters but it does require more walking from those that do not have a mobility vehicle.

Chances are that someone that can walk with any degree of ease would do less actual walking taking the tram then walking from the "closer" parking locations. If you feel it is worthwhile and want to pay it, then by all means do so. I'm sure that if you are concerned about having my approval, you will quickly figure out that I couldn't care less regardless. No need to justify to me or anyone else.
