As we all know, Mission:Space will not be opening until next year. BUT, given what we know up to this point, and using your own intuition and hunch, how do you feel guests will react to this new attraction?

Please reply to the thread with your reasoning, if you have any real reasons, that is.

I voted for "A Good Ride, But Nothing Spectacular", and here's why.

1. There' s a lot of anticipation that the ride will have to live up to.

2. I feel the pavillion will be a queue, the ride, and an exit. It would enhance the ride to be surrounded by other exhibits, displays, etc. Give guests something else to do besides say, "Well, that's it."

3. I have faith in the centrifuge system to deliver an interesting feeling ride to the guests. My concern lies with the visual presentation of this "trip to the stars". I can't fathom a display system for inside the pods that will not look like a common video game or a flickering Star Tours style film. On one hand, I don't want to have to wear 3D glasses, but on the other, it's the only way I can see to make this visually interesting given the ride's design.

I hope they surprise me with something new!

Given the budget of this ride, its construction time, the amazing look of the outside, and the size of the building itself (which would allow for quite a bit of exhibit space), I voted that it will be mind-blowing. I envision stand-by waits nearing three hours when this opens with fastpasses being gone by 10 am...of course, this would mean Test Track's lines would drop. I've always thought Imagineers could do anything, and given the $150,000,000 budget of this ride, I don't think they would let this attraction feel at all like a video game. Astronauts have already said it's the closest thing to flying in a shuttle most people will ever experience, so I'm guessing it's realistic.

I believe that this attraction will be the best at WDW, maybe even the best at any Disney park (I hope)!! I believe that this attraction will increase attendance dramatically at EPCOT!! :)

A big budget, construction time, size, and amazing looks do not guarantee a good ride. Those factors did not guarantee that AK would be a spectacular park.

As far as the astronauts are concerned, It may be incredibly realistic, but that might also mean that some people will find it incredibly boring. Since I've never rode in the shuttle, I can't vouch for the fact that it is more mindblowing than the RnR coaster or ToT. If it isn't...some folks will be disappointed.

I think it will be liked but cannot say if people will think it's "mind-blowing." I heard the hype about Test Track so much that when I rode it, it didn't live up to it. Same can be said for several other recent additions to WDW. I'd love to see this blow Test Track...maybe even Tower of Terror...out of the water and I look forward to trying it out myself. But for now, my vote goes to "good ride."

I said mind blowing, because after all teh work they did on it and the time it has taken for them to do it, they know that they woudl have to be dang sure that the ride will knock people's socks off. All of the money that they put into it, all the hype, and Disney knows that fans have been waiting patiently for the past 6 years for the ride. With IOA bringing in so much competition and good ratings, and Disney not having any real E-Tickets made for a long time and all the troubles they have been doing economically, it is almost like Mission: Space will determine the future of Disney's theme parks. In other words, it had better be good!

I chose a mind blowing ride. but I had heard that durring testing with former astronauts and Regular folk the regular folk lost there cookies on the ride, hence why the pods are washable i would think. so maybe I should have said it would be a stomache blowing experience:lol:

If this story were actually true, wouldn't you think that the Imagineers would tone the ride down? Those pods may be washable, but I doubt there would be a surplus of cast members who would want to work such an attraction.

How does one sign up for Test and Adjust? I'm a CM, so do I have to go through some selection or something?

Contact me in private about this.

We can only hope and pray that after all the money that has been spent it is in deed going to be an awesome ride. If not, we will be voting on here again in '03

Well from what I know, if you hurl in space, you are going to be wearing it out. the old "don't p** into the wind factor". Unless you have exceptional expell qualities. Anyway, it will still be a MESS.

I voted for "good ride. but nothing spectacular." here's why:

Everyone will be going in expecting everything to be perfect according to thier personality. It is just like when some ppl were expecting another special effects gone overboard/INDEPENDENCE DAY when they went to see SIGNS, which is again in the top 3 grossing movies for the 3rd weekend.
