Pre-Trip Report (I know its not until next Thanksgiving but I'm excited)

Ok, little back story. Our family is very large. We normally travel with at least 16-20 people every time we go to Disney. Because of this, we go every two years. We normally rent a huge house off-site where everyone stays the entire trip. We,as a group, have never stayed onsite. We almost always bring our lunch into the parks. Understand that just 15 hotdogs, fries and drinks cost us over $100.00 at the parks.
This trip will be different in a lot of ways. We are staying onsite and getting the DDP.
Our cast:
1.Me- Stephanie
2.DH-Mark

3.Lani-18 year old daughter who is now in college and lives with her boy friend :(
4.Kari-8 year old daughter
5.Luke-5 year old son
6.Kadi-4 year old daughter
7.Kathy- Mark's Mother
8.Harold-Mark's Father
9.Nick-Lani's boyfriend of 3 years
10.Kyle-Mark's brother
11.Logan-Kyle's 7 year old son
12. Rob-Mark's life long friend and Luke's God Father. (or like we Cajun people like to call them "Parrin")

So far, that is all that will be going this time. Its funny not to have 4 or 5 cars full of people.
We have picked out what restaurants we want to eat at, we know we will start out by going to Magic Kingdom and end in MK. Other than that, we don't know too much. Our hotel is booked and mostly paid off. Waiting for the deals to come out so we can add them to our ressies.

We are leaving Louisiana on Black Friday. We plan on driving straight thru and staying in an off-site hotel the first night. We want to wake up early and eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel before heading to MK. My only plan for that day is FLE. I hope it will be open totally by then but I have a feeling that the Seven Dwarfs MC will not be finished :(

Our restaurant choices are as follows:
Be Our Guest, Akersus for breakfast, T-Rex, 50's Prime Time, Plaza, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's Teppan Edo, & Kona . The rest will just be quick service.

Yay planning way ahead of time!

I'm right there with you. I'm not even sure when our next trip will be. But I'm already excited for it!

We have been planning this since we left WDW with the family the last time. i have numerous spread sheets devoted to this trip along with an entire notebook and everyone has copies of the spread sheets. Needless to say, I am the planner and the main reason we go all the time. Everyone seems to like to go, I just nudge them along. :ROFLOL:
I think to complete this, I will have to research how to add pictures. I think it looks much nicer when you can see the people that I am talking about. Maybe someone can post on here how to upload pictures?:animwink:

You are the main reason I am even considering this. I first read your trip report and then HollyBelle's. Made me want to so write one but I think I need a little more experience with post first so I am trying my luck with the pre-trip first. LOL

You can still post pictures. I use Photobucket to upload my pics, then copy the IMG code and paste it into your post here. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for the info. Guess now that I know how to do it, I might as well write a trip report from our last time together at Disney. Then, maybe, I will write one from my anniversary trip with my husband! Only time will tell.:ROFLOL:

OK so this is all of us from our last trip. The only picture with everyone in it. Sorry it is so dark. A nice Asian tourist took it for us. The flash on the camera was not strong enough.

February 2010 Trip Report
Planning started February 2008 when we left Disney the last time. When we got home, I started looking up houses for us to rent. We found one that would comfortable fit us all almost immediately. 6 bedrooms 4 baths with heated pool and hot tub! Awesomeness. Our itinerary had us leaving Louisiana at 8pm on February 12 (the day after my birthday) and driving all the way to WDW. Normally an 11 hour drive but with 4 kids and 3 older people there was a lot of bathroom breaks. If you look at the last post, you will see the one and only picture we have.

Day 1 Animal Kingdom OMG its Freezing!

We stopped in Ocala for breakfast and then straight to Animal Kingdom. We figured if and when we got tired, we could just head to the house. Notice how cold it was. Everyone had one long sleeves on except us. OMG we were not prepared. Speaking of not prepared. I booked the vacation almost 2 years earlier. Everyone who was going with us knew all the plans and we still had two people who needed to buy tickets. Waiting for them while they bought tickets, while we sat with ours that I ordered online.

Our plan was to do the left side of Animal Kingdom starting with EE and moving to DinoLand. We rode Dinosaur, played in the playground, Primeval Whirl, and Triceratops Spin. We tried to go see Nemo twice but it didn’t work out that day. Before we left, we rode EE again.

We ended up staying for quite a while. If I remember correctly, it was at least until 4. We all went to the house to check in and it was so nice. Then, after unpacking, it was off to Target to get the necessary food and cold weather clothes. They had no long johns and very few long sleeve clothes. After $500.00 dropped in the Bank of Target, we went home and prepared the water bottles for the next day. Kool-Aid in some and water in some. We also made our sandwiches to take to the parks the next day. Then, showers and bed. By now, it was late, maybe 11pm. Up for two days straight means time for me to go to bed.

Day 2 Magic Kingdom 2/14/2010 Valentines Day and a special surprise proposal

Our plan was to be at Magic Kingdom this day. We was suppose to do most of the rides. I made everyone a copy of a spread sheet schedule with times and rides on it. We was going to skip the fireworks and the parades today because we would be back in a few days to watch them and just do rides today. Well, right before we left my house, my now brother in law told me he wanted to propose to my sister while we was there and what better time than during Wishes in front of the Castle on Valentine’s Day to do it, Right? So plans changed. Well, when we got to MK, we started out by going to Haunted Mansion. I know, why not Peter Pan or Dumbo. We have three people in wheel chairs and at Magic Kingdom, they go straight to the front of the line with up to 5 guests. Well that means all 15 of us had no problem walking on any ride although to transfer it took a long time for some of us. Haunted Mansion is probably the hardest so we went there first.
