Not sure whether is because I'm meant to be in Florida now or it's the abysmal weather we are having but I'm struggling to get excited about the trip :(
Think it started when I forgot to book my Eurotunnel in time to use the Tesco vouchers so had to pay £116 out of pocket. Silly silly woman!

Anyhoo, here is the plan so far:
Even though we go every six months this is the first time we are not planning to do any table service meals. Originally I was going to do the dining plan, but having looked at some of the counter service menus again we decided it would be cheaper and this time didn't want to be tied into reservations.
21st Oct - Leave home at 5am and journey to Folkstone to catch the 8.20 Eurotunnel. We'll stop at some point at a Sanef for brunch and carry on the journey. Expect to be at the Sequoia Lodge at about 2.30. We have stayed at all hotels onsite, but find the Sequoia to be the one we love most.
We'll have a lazy walk through Disney Village and hit the main park first. We plan on eating at Pizza Planet when the parade is on, hoping to get Fastpasses for Buzz to coincide with this. I think we'll probably hang about in Discoveryland until Dreams, and we like to get a spot at the fountains at the entrance of Discoveryland. I sit my girl on the bin (on a blanket), and it is far less busy. Depending on crowds we may venture into the hub to try and get a spot but I hate getting a spot then some obnoxious French person usually just barges in front, after they have puffed their cigarette smoke into my kids faces usually...grrrrrrr.

22nd - We are planning a big breakfast at the hotel and will take fruit and cereals to snack on in the parks. Today is all about Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Small World and teacups. If we get up in time for Extra magic hours then we will head to Discoveryland first so we are first in line for the Speedway cars though, then work counter-clockwise. Lunch will be snacks, and dinner will either be at Bella Notte or Colonel Hathi's as they both have the same menu, depending in which land we are.
We plan on hopefully catching the new Halloween cavalcade as we cross between Adventureland and Fantasyland, and take a little detour through the castle to get our spot. This is actually the bit I am most excited about, and I can't get the song from my head after seeing it on youtube :D The Halloween decorations are my favourite time of year, I don't like the structures that bridge Main Street for Christmas as they block the view of the castle/
We also plan on catching the main parade today and will stake our spot just outside of Discover arcade, near the Kodak shop. I love watching Mickey getting brought off his float by a cherry picker at the end! We'll try and do some big rides while people are getting set for Dreams.

23rd - Will be a repeat of the previous day, with the exceptions of the parades, we are planning an early night and will head back about 6 to the hotel to have a restful evening as tomorrow the birthday boy turns 5!

24th - Birthday boy has planned the day! Up early for breakfast at Cafe Mickey and head straight to the Studios. He has been eating all his vegetables is finally tall enough to ride Crush!!!!!! That's the first ride then into Toy Story Playland. We'll skip RC as 2 of the kids are not tall enough and the queue is always horrendous! I have been told by the Birthday Boy that we must catch the Stitch show today, and can he dress up in a Stitch hat so he can be picked! Last time, I got picked as the one that the planet was named after and it was my husband's fault that it exploded lol. I do love the Stitch show and am praying that Eliot gets picked..... We'll also catch the Disney Junior show, another favourite, and it's no surprise that we don't get shoved about as it's an English audience ;)
We'll head over to Disneyland Park after Stars in their Cars as we find the Studios to only be a half-day park. We don't do Tower of Terror or Aerosmith, though we may watch Lights Moteurs Action this time.
Birthday boy wants dinner at Fuente de Oro as his favourite food is mexican, so will head over there while the parade is on and probably do Thunder Mountain again. I'm pretty sure we'll be taking a slow walk through Main Street and Disney Village to get Birthday Boy some presents before going back to the hotel.

25th - Will be everything we decide as a group we want to do again! For some reason our last day is always the one that we rush around on, doing everything "One last time!". Our Eurotunnel home is at 19.20 so we will probably leave Disneyland around 3.

Have a great trip!!

I am sure you know this already, but in my experience the counter service places at DLP have very bizarre opening times. So don't get too set on a certain place for a certain day and meal as it might not be open.

I am so tempted to dig up a 2002 pre-trip report and wish them a fun trip...but am afraid the Mom will spank me!

(which would be just fine with me - but I have a very jealous gf!)
