Pre-trip availability of ordering Magicband+ on MDE

The DW and I have a trip planned for December And thought we should order new Magicband+ through the MDE. Seems the variety of Magicband+ is decreasing at an alarming rate! I know we can use some of our old ones but I haven't charged them in a couple of years. Is Disney having a supply issue or moving away from discounted pre-orders and making you obtain them from Shop Disney? Curious minds want to know!!!
