Pre Thanksgiving or Early December?

Hi there. My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to WDW this year. We are either thinking of Thursday November 14 - Monday November 18th OR Thursday December 5 - Monday December 9

We are looking for low crowds :) No kids so don't need to plan around that. We went last year in late October while Food and Wine Festival was going on and it was definitelty busier than we thought it would be. We are wanting to go when the parks are decorated for Christmas and for Mickey's Christmas party and Osbourne Lights.

Which week do you think will be better for less crowds?

Any other advice is appreciated :)

Thanks :)

I think you'll be good either way, but I'd go for the December dates. The first 3 weeks after Thanksgiving are supposed to be the "best" time to go, although I can personally vouch for the week prior to Thanksgiving also having low crowds.

I would expect that either option would work out well. I was in WDW the week before Thanksgiving in '08 and crowd levels were low during the week and medium on the weekends. I have not been to WDW the first couple weeks of December but I would expect low crowds then too. You didn't ask the question, but either way, I would highly recommend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I had a blast when I went in November '08 and most rides had little or no wait during the party.

We went the first week of December for the past 3 years and loved it. The temps are great and the lines are short; what more could you ask for? BUT somehow that week is always left off the free dining plan specials. Check on that. Which ever time gives you the free dining or a discount I would go after. I can only speak for early December: LOVE IT!!! Have fun and don't forget to book your dining reservations as early as possible and get Ohana.
