Reuters also says that NBC has purchased the broadcast and basic cable rights to Chicago in a deal with Walt Disney Co.-owned Miramax Films. Under the deal, completed last week, the hit musical will make its network TV premiere in November 2005.
The film will debut on NBC's entertainment cable channel, Bravo, the same year. Bravo and NBC, both units of General Electric Co., will share the same three-year broadcast window.
