THE Popkid himself will be in our neck of the woods this week and last I spoke with him he was planning on a DL trip Friday and Saturday. I am still trying to lock down times - so stay tuned to this message as details get focused.

While I am waiting for details, anyone interested in a Friday and/or Saturday meet?

I know I definitely can't on Saturday, cause I'm working all weekend. I may be able to on Friday, though, I'd have to check my finals schedule.

I wish I could have meet you all there! I'm way too far away.
SO, did you meet up with Popkid? I've met up with him here in NJ before..........but not in a cool place like Disneyland! He's a cool kid. I hope I can meet up with all of you in DL someday soon!!!!

Well, Kirsten and I had a great time but someone ditched us. ;)

I was pleasantly surprised by the tram ride when the CM said that fireworks would be going off at 9:25. This was a complete surprise (our fireworks only run during summer, holiday, and select other times.)

I checked with Guest Relations at DCA and they didn't know. 1 of 3 things for them to checked said yes. They called GR at City Hall. They didn't know. So they called Entertainment who confirmed the fireworks and the testing of the new air cannons.

We spent most of the time goofing around, as normal.
Tot - 30 minute wait
Screamin - 10 minute wait
Soarin - 10 minute wait

We made our way over to DL. We rode Pirates and some work had been done.

Teh bird on the skelitons head just after the 2nd waterfall was turned to face the boats. The light bulbs had been changed in many, if not all, the locations. The projection of the sword fight just after the Pirate Ship was greatly enhanced - you can actually tell what is going on now. At the end of the ride the upper most of the 2 pirates tugging the treasure load had no light on him. The 2 skelitons you pass after him had enhanced lighting on them now.

We grabbed dinner at Village Haus which took over 30 minutes in light crowds. So we took it with us to the Hub to eat and wait for the fireworks. This ended up being a stand up night to watch the show. The new cannons did well, I didn't notice anything super-amiss.

After that we caught Fantasmic which was, well, fantastic. And no, Kirsten did not scream her undying love to Aladdin this time.

Oh, see, that's just cause he was too far away this time. :D  That and I got some of my Aladdin fill seeing HNA for his 10 seconds over at DCA. ;)

We were talking about the fireworks test over at Disneysites, and there was someone there who watched it from the top of the parking structure. Apparently there were a few shells that didn't get as high as they should - we prolly couldn't even see those from our spot in the Hub, with the castle in the way - and that the launches were actually much quieter than usual. But other than that, the test seemed to go well!

I did end up getting some decent photos of Believe, and some of the Fantasmic ones came out well... unfortunately no really clear shots of Aladdin. But they're up at http://xfkirsten.fotopic.net

someone ditched ya!?! nuh uh

i was without internet access the entire time in LA. my wireless connection wouldn't work at E3, and wouldn't you know - the person we stayed with was probably the only person in all of california without internet access.

anyhow, my time at disneyland was pretty short - left the park at around 5:30 friday, and 4:30 saturday

was able to hit the new tower, soarin, and most of my favorites on friday - wasn't too crowded. saturday was jam packed, thank goodness for those single rider lines :)

sorry i couldnt get ahold of any of you this time, but i was so worn out, i doubt i'd be much fun.

i visited family in irving, and want to get back to see them again - so we'll definately plan it out better next time.

it's funny, i'm so used to visiting disney world that disneyland is a bit of a shock. it's odd to exit one attraction right by the entrance to another, without being dumped right into the gift shop.

Glad to hear that thigns went well for you. Yea, E3 can be a bit overwhelming. Glad to hear you had a good time at DL, too bad we couldn't hook up. Oh well, there is next time.
