Postponed my cruise, now my friend's sad

How can I help her get through the day we would have been arriving in Florida?
We had originally booked the 7 night Western Caribbean for October 16th, but because of my financial reasons, I had to ask her if we could re-schedule it for April 2011. We had been looking forward to the October date for quite awhile, with the daily countdown and everything. I know that on October 15th she's going to be sad, thinking this was going to be the day we'd get to FL for the cruise. Any suggestions on what I could do to brighten her day a little?

After work on October 15th, throw a little tropical party. Make up some margaritas, hurricanes or pina coladas if you're the sort who partake of adult beverages. If not, make virgin daquiris of the strawberry or banana kind. Play some Jimmy Buffett and/or Reggae. Wear large straw hats and hawaiian shirts. Watch Pirates of the Caribbean. Just have fun with it and have it be the start of the official "Countdown to April 2011." If you've got time, and since it's not until October, you might just, make up a small page-a-day countdown calendar and tear off pages until you get to the last day, the day of the trip. Put fun facts about things you've done together in the past, or things about the places you'll visit on the cruise and of course about Disney. Instead of being down about not going in October, it will make her look forward even more to going in April. And at least in April, it's not hurricane season like it still is in October.
