Possible third ride in pandora

I think I mentioned this idea before in my first post but I just wanted to get some good discussion going. According to James Cameron avatar 2 will explore the ocean of pandora. I'm sure this ocean will not be uninhabited. Cameron probably has many aquatic creatures on the drawing board for the upcoming sequel. Since the film is scheduled to release in December 2016 (which would be about 6 or 7 months out from the grand opening of pandora in AK). My idea is a 20,000 leagues under the sea esque attraction showcasing the aquatic life of pandora. Maybe have it be like the jaws attraction except underwater. It would be thrilling. What do you all think?

The thing is, they'll already have a water ride. And we know for sure the "Soarin" type ride. And given all the talk about Banshees and simulators, there's likely going to be a 3rd ride already.

It's a cool blue-sky idea, but I don't think there will be enough land left in that area to build something of that size.
That is true. I think it would be cool if they had attractions that somewhat coincided with the movie but I guess the park itself is enough lol

I'm wondering what it can be though. We already have 2 major attractions that wdi is pulling out all the stops for. I'm sure if there is to be a third ride within the land the quality of it would be no less than the first 2 rides.

also what other ride ideas can you explore with avatar that would be different from the mountain banshee flight sim and boat ride. I mean the underwater idea is similar to the boat ride but would have a totally different dynamic to it. Whenever I think of wdi they have this "go big or go home" mentality so I try to think like them lol. I know the official announcement of a cirque avatar show was made recently maybe that could be the third attraction.

Huh? I might be mis-understanding you but I think the Soarin ride is the Banshee simulator ride. So only two rides.
i think that's what he meant. I think he was trying to say that plans for a third attraction are locked in.

there just seem like enough land for a third ride..i also think that might have been a reason why they went the sim route for size purposes....

I wouldn't be surprised if they have space set aside -- and maybe even tentative plans -- for a third ride. However, I'm skeptical that one would be built. Once the land is made, I just don't see the impetus for expanding Pandora.

also once this DAK expansion is built I doubt you see anything there for the next decade

My only thought on this is that Cameron does not remind me of someone that settles for something. He wanted a land with three rides but only got two. It makes me wonder if Iger said two for now, but under the terms of future considerations depending upon how well the new land is received along with how successful the sequels perform box office wise.

Neither partner truly needs the other in this marriage. But this can work to benefit both. A hugely successful addition will help bolster this park into a full day experience. The popularity of the land would do nothing but help to promote the sequels on a daily basis.

Really?? How are they going to put Banshee-like seats on that ride apparatus? The capacity will be dismal, because it's already very low based on the standard capacity of the ride system they're using. Hmmmm.

I was not trying to say that.

I was not trying to say that.
Based on previous discussions, I thought the general consensus was that the banshee seats were part of the simulator ride.
Having seen no plans of any kind for a third ride and seeing nothing at the construction site yet that indicates plans that we haven't seen makes it hard to assume, for me at least, that there is a third ride.
I just thought that they had some clever way to have a bunch of people "riding" on a banshee. Perhaps a gondola or something. Idk they're the experts.

I've seen the ride system, and a couple years ago I briefly saw the plans that they're using to build the facility. It showed three levels of boarding platforms. There wasn't much detail on the seats, they just looked like standard seats across a gondola that would extend out into the air space and tilt, roll and sway with a 3D IMAX movie.

If they're going to make the individual seats actually look like Banshees, that's really going to cut down on the number of seats I saw in the plans. I'm hoping it's just an "imagine you're on your own banshee, but it's really an 8-person carriage" thing. Similar to the ET ride at Uni. You're not really on your own bike...you're on a platform with 11 other people, pretending to be on individual bikes.

Right. I was assuming the same thing. Do you think theres enough room between levels, though, so the perhaps each row of seats could have it's own animatronic banshee?

I am not sure how they are going to do it, but it doesn't make sense to have both the Soarin ride and a second Banshee simulator ride.
