Possible Spoiler Alert: Can anyone explain the ending of Betelgeuse/Betelgeuse?

I saw the movie yesterday. It was quite different from the first one, but had thousands of Easter Eggs, some funny parts, some surprises, and some confusion. Can anyone tell me what was happening at the end? What it meant? Generally, what was I seeing?

It is an enjoyable movie with a much darker story line, but interesting. I just am bewildered about the ending. I know I must have missed something, but I don't know what.
