Possible Oz Attraction?

Now this is neither news or a rumor, just something I found interesting and put a bit of optimism into my heart.

I know the expansion isn't exactly the most amazing thing in the world and that Storybook Circus is a real disappointment. I remember reading somewhere on these boards a while ago that the northern most part of Storybook Circus is a placeholder for some future attraction. I mean we all know Pixie Hollow was supposed to go there before it was axed and replaced by a meet and greet, gift shop, and Fastpass distribution area.

I also have heard rumors of a possible attraction being developed for Disneyland's Fantasyland based on the upcoming film Oz: The Great and Powerful starring James Franco. The attraction's fate depends on the success of the movie, or lack thereof. Watch the trailer:

Apparently Oz is a circus sideshow act and takes a hot air balloon and ends up in a fantasy land called Oz.

Circus... Fastasy land... It sounds like a perfect fit to me. ;)

Ummm...have you actually BEEN to Storybook Circus? The theming is freaking amazing! Are you one of the few Disney fans that care about "rides" [attractions] more than what Disney Parks are ultimately famous for: An insane and magical amount of theming? Storybook Circus is NOT a disappointment and I really don't think MK needs Oz now, DHS is where I think it could work or MAYBE Future World....

? Is this meant to be sarcastic, because I don't really know.

I think what Disney parks are famous for are the rides. The theming is important, but usually what folks remember are the attractions, "When I went to Disneyland I got on . . . " Who goes to MK and gushes over the "amazing plants and themed lights on the train station", besides super-fans months after Circusland opened? Two years from now, nobody is going to go online and write rave reviews for an outdoor water play area, landscaping, and elephants prints in the cement. All important, but meaningless without good attractions. Maybe they could build a "landscapeland" where it is just theming!

Who says I can't wait to see the highly themed planters at Circusland? Yeah, it looks nice, but there is a very lightly themed coaster, and a dueling Dumbos. Circusland needs and E-Ticket, an Oz ride seems like a great idea, especially given all the circus tents in the land, it will blend in seamlessly.

I'd be overjoyed with an Oz ride/attraction IF it were based on the 1939 film (or if that film were folded into an attraction built around the new Disney Oz film), and I'd prefer that it was situated in DHS, because DHS is more or less a park that commemorates movies in general (not just Disney films).

But basically, I'd much rather that any new attraction in Fantasyland be based on Wonderland or Neverland or the Disney villains or some such. The classics. This new Oz film..I don't know...the trailer makes Oz look like Tim Burton's Wonderland, which I didn't care for much...

I would love to see an Oz attraction somewhere in the parks.

I believe Wizard of Oz should be at DHS. I also would like to see a Star Wars area there and an Indiana Jones area too. The park should be about celebrating movies and taking you inside the movies.

The cartoon area at DHS should be Pixar and there should also be a Muppets area.

If they made this, then DHS would be a truly great park. As it is now, DHS is my family's least favorite park and we typically only spend a half day there. To be honest, the only reason we even go back there every trip is because I like having lunch at Brown Derby and enjoy having the grapefruit cake and cobb salad once a year.

I would like to see Oz as just a classic dark ride utilising new technologies. I'm getting a bit tired of every new movie needing a huge e-ticket or area. I think a movie like this has everything important for a dark ride...

-Nice Story the is easy to understand and flows
-Great sets and areas to explore
-Memorable Moments (Judging from the trailer)
-Bright Colour!
