i heard that disney is workin with ETC (a flight simulator company)
for Mission: Space

while searching their site i stumbled across a press release on them making rides for amusement parks
http://www.etcusa.com/corp/pressreleases/NR060602.htm
hint hint

anyway i found a pic of their newest creation, the G-FET II
pictured below

this possibly could be what the ride might look something like

but im sure Disney wanted a ride type of their own

some sattelite pictures of MS construction show 4 circles on te ground this could be where they are planting these centrifuges

but who knows

Come on guys! I'm sure Disney has thought of Ride capacity..there were what? four circles? The IMagineers wouldn't have just put in 4 1-man pods..thats what? A 5-minute show..12 people per hour! YES! No, I'm sure they have larger pods..Do you think that each cirlce might actually have more then one of these babies? They might have it modified so more then one can branch off one central axis...And then all spin at the same time...

RIDE CAPACITY! There will be a line back to the MK

In an arial photo that was posted here earlier it showed 5 circles which will probably be the bases for thses things. This think looks a lot like what's being described as the ride vehicles or "pods"

Nice picture.

It looks to me as though the "pod" in the picture was meant to house about 2 people (like CyberSpace Mountain.) While the concept is interesting, it doesn't seem particularly feasable that a machine could be built that flings around a pod - the size of a Body Wars simiulator - accurately, efficienty, and repetitively for years to come.

As for the multiple pod-per-axis theory, that makes sense, much like the efficiency of a cieling fan with 4 blades. However, just think about how much weight that would consist of. A machine of this capability would not only be the first of its kind, but would have to be HUGE. It also seems like a mechanical nightmare.

I think WDW should spend their money on working out all of the bugs in Test Track first, and then persue new attractions. On my last visit to TT, the FastPass line alone extended beyond the exterior of the building. Rediculous.

You are not much of a dreamer, are you?

Do you think they would spend so much money on an attraction only to last for a short period of time? It may take some time to work out the kinks but Disney has always been one step ahead of everyone else in new ideas and attractions.

Remember what Walt said, "If we can dream it, we can do it." :animwink:

if ms is gonna be like this its gunna feel so real, cuz you have a main turning sysem which gives you the g-force effect, then you have a secondary turning system which gives you a rise and fall effect, and then a third axis which gives you a banked turn effect

how cool is disney
